Yep, it's true...I finally, after 20 years living here, FINALLY have a screen door! And I'm proud to say my daughter & I built it!
Second only to the sense of accomplishment is the fact that it cost nothing but a $3 pack of hinges! All the materials, including the cute trim and screen, were things already lying around! Hillbilly 1; local door retailers 0.
Y'know, I've long heard it said that necessity is the father of all invention. I see it a little differently: desperation and being broke inspire imagination and spur ya into action and all kinds of good things can come from that!
Packed with the hilarity of hillbilly livin', crafts, do-it-yourself, patterns, recipes, and near-misses!

Hi'ya!
This is all new to me, so please be patient as I learn. Allow me to introduce myself: I am Hillbillyhoney. That's right. Hillbilly & proud of it! Barefoot, gun totin', hardworkin' & hard-playin'.
I have a ton of wildlife surrounding me, and you will see pics soon....everything from common birds to the bears that play in my yard.
I love my flowers...you'll soon be sick of the pics of 'em.
I knit, crochet, sew, cook...I'll post pics, patterns & recipes.
Okay, so that's me. Keep an eye out for fun stuff comin'!
